How to check AirPods battery on IOS and Android

One of the headphones that have had a huge boom since they hit the market in 2016 are the AirPods. These wireless headphones were designed by the Apple company and connect with any compatible device without any type of cable, as it works through Bluetooth connection.

Their autonomy and design make them what can be categorized as the perfect headphones; however, there is a small detail regarding the AirPods: “battery charging”, a detail that is quite hidden in the iOS and Androidmenu options.

Not that this is a big problem, but we cannot deny that it is annoying to leave the house with the headphones and that in less than a minute the notification starts to sound that the battery is at 10%.

How to know the battery charge of the AirPods in IOS

For iPhone, iPad or any Apple device, there are 2 options to know the battery:

Option 1. Just locate the battery widget found on the home screen. Through the widget you will be able to observe the battery level of your iPhone AirPods, it is also a valid option for Apple Watch.

In case you do not know how to locate the widget: just slide your finger to the left from the home screen of your iPhone. In that option you will see different windows, including one that shows the charge of your AirPods and Smart Case.

Option 2. The second option is to bring the charging case close to the iPhone, but with the AirPods inside the case itself. After a few seconds a window will pop up on your iPhone revealing the AirPods charging.

Both methods are quite simple, now that you know them don’t forget to use them, check the battery of your AirPods and don’t be left without listening to your favorite music, listen to your voice memos and answer calls while driving.

How to watch the battery charge of your AirPods on Android

AirPods have been labeled as the perfect headphones, at least to this day. Even though they have competition in the face of price quality from many bluetooth headphones android users inevitably still prefer the AirPods. Apple knows this very well and that is why the AirPods can also be used without any problem on cell phones with Android operating system.

But, unlike what happens on iPhone, Android does not have a specific option to know the battery status of the AirPods, but don’t worry! There are several very simple options that will be very helpful.

Option 1. AirBattery is an app that lets you know the battery status of your AirPods in case you use Android. As cell phones with Android operating system do not have a direct option, it is therefore necessary to download an application.

AirBaterry allows you to check the battery of the AirPods 1 and 2, AirPods Pro and also serves for several beats headphones.

The app is quite simple and intuitive. To use it you must have linked your AirPods to Android, so that a window is activated quite similar to what it looks like on the iPhone. The screen shows the charge level of the AirPods, as well as that of the Smart Case.

There is a particularity with AirBattery and is that the designers comment that there is a margin of error of 10% in terms of battery, that is, if for example shows that you have 12% battery, in reality it is because you really have 2%. So it is essential to know this detail to apply the correction factor and thus avoid the complete discharge of the battery of your AirPods.

It has quite useful functions, it is able to detect that the AirPods are in your ear when you are in Spotify, in case you have Beats headphones, you can also know the battery status and charging case of these. It is a completely free app, but it is monetized with advertisements.

Option 2. PodAir serves in the same way as the previous one to know the battery of our headphones. In addition to offering:

  • Displays the battery percentage of your right AirPod, left AirPod and AirPod case.
  • Compatible with Apple AirPods 1, AirPods 2 and AirPods Pro.
  • Automatically connects when you connect your AirPods to your phone.
  • View the charging status of your AirPods and AirPod case.
